YOUR HOST
My name is Devin and my wife, Tasha, and I have been together since middle school (yes you read that right). We have been dating since middle school. We got married in 2016 and are now living the dream with three kids (Olive, Truett, and Everett) and two dogs (Winston and Douglas).
I have been working at a local church for almost ten years where I have served in the Generations Department and Creative Department over that time.
I also get to help our family member in her creative needs as she pursues her dream of playing professional and national softball.
WHY THE TABLE?
I started The Table because the world really needs another podcast - completely joking.
I started The Table not because the world needed another podcast but simply out of obedience.
I was in a season of life where God was speaking so much during my personal time with Him but in that I didn’t have a place to release any of it. It felt like something pouring into my soul only to overflow and stay stuck. So in that time I began praying about what to do. I don’t think Heaven itself opened up but I do believe I felt the Holy Spirit drop a podcast to me.
I started to work on it and see where it went.
So as I’ve started The Table I have entered with this mindset: If you like, share, or subscribe that’s incredible and it would mean the world to me but if you don’t that’s okay to because at the end of the day this is a step of obedience.
My job is obedience.
God can do whatever He wants with my obedience.
So with that being said: welcome to The Table.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The goal of The Table is really simple:
We want you to pull up a chair, lean into truth, and live it out boldly.
We want to create a space where you can talk about deeper truths of scripture, be challenged in your faith, learn how the Bible applies to your social circle, and give you a space where you can invite someone else to take a seat at the table.
We want to create a safe space where you can have honest conversations, full of questions about faith and life in a crazy, chaotic, and noisy world. So bring your questions, doubts, and desire to learn more to the table and let's grow together.
The Table is not going to be locked into long or short format podcasting. The goal is to treat each podcast like a physical meal at a real table.
Some meals are quick. You know what I’m talking about: leave work, go to soccer, go through a drive through, and eat quick before bed time.
Then some meals are longer. It’s the date night, the long conversation with an old friend over food, or the eating around an outdoor table on a warm summer night.
Regardless if the meal is short or long the goal is to be at the table to gain nutrition. The same is true here. Regardless if it’s short or long format the end goal is really to be at The Table for something to eat.
